Justice Dery was one of the 22 high court judges cited for bribery in the Anas’ exposé

Beleaguered High Court judges Mustapha Habib Logoh and Paul Uuter Dery have jointly sued 2016 Journalist of the Year Anas Aremeyaw Anas and the Ghana Journalists Association as well as its executives for awarding the ace investigative journalist the coveted prize.

According to the two judges, the Association and its executives failed to heed to a petition to withdraw the prize.

The two judges, who are part of the 22 cited for bribery in the landmark exposé by Anas, said the prize on August 27 was meant to “endorse” and “glorify” the “unconstitutional conduct”.

They claim the action of the Association in awarding Anas for his work, which is subject of an ongoing legal tussle, could be prejudicial to the outcome of the case in court.

In a suit dated September 13, 2016, justices Habib Logoh and Dery are seeking from an Accra High Court a relief to cite GJA for contempt.

They also want compensation for “defamation” against “the damages” done to their reputation.
