Karpowership, a subsidiary of Turkish firm Karadeniz Holdings, has allayed fears of any effect of the recent abortive coup in Turkey on operations in Ghana.
It says its planned delivery of a 450MW powership is on course.
“All our international and local personnel are safe and all our operations inside & outside of Turkey and construction works in our shipyards continue without any interruptions or delays,” said a statement on Wednesday, July 20.
“Thus the 450MW powership expected in Ghana this year will be delivered as planned.”
The energy company expressed sympathies to families who were affected by the incident.
‘As Karpowership, we extend our deepest sympathies to the victims of this terrible crime. Our thoughts are with their families.”
Last Friday’s attempted coup has been condemned in international circles with President Recep Erdogan declaring he is in charge of the country.
