Posters of Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency Nii Armah Ashietey are making rounds in the constituency though he has lost his candidature to Dr Zanetor Rawlings.
After losing the November 21 National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary to the daughter of former president Jerry John Rawlings, the incumbent MP resorted to the courts to overturn the results.
He claimed his young challenger was not a registered voter prior to the party contest.
But the Supreme Court on Monday, July 18 gave Dr Rawlings the greenlight by ruling that she can contest the 2016 parliamentary elections.
‘The People’s Choice’
Posters of the incumbent MP with the inscription ‘The People’s Choice’ is already making rounds.
It is unclear whether it is a notice that the former Employment Minister will contest the 2016 elections as an independent candidate.
Superimposed in Ga beneath the poster is the writing ‘Bo N)gg W) k3 Yaa’, to wit you are still our candidate.
The internal wrangling in the NDC is symmetrical to what is happening in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), where former Constituency Chairman Nii Noi Nortey wants to go independent after losing the party’s primary to renowned lawyer Philip Addison.
