The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kojo Bonsu, has resigned his position. His resignation was contained in a letter to President John Mahama.

In a statement issued Tuesday to announce his resignation, he expressed his appreciation to President Mahama and the entire staff of KMA. This was at the launch of his memoir in Kumasi.

Mr. Kojo Bonsu also thanked the King of Ashanti, Otumfour Osei Tutu II and “Nananom of the Kumasi Traditional Council as well as staff of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and the people of Kumasi for their support and cooperation during my tenure.”

The immediate past Mayor had a misunderstanding with the traditional leadership of the Ashanti region for dropping one of the chiefs whose name was on a board expected to supervise the Kejetia Market project.

Below is the full statement of his resignation which was on a letter head of the KMA
