Ghanaian musician Patapaa says Afrobeats/Highlife artiste, Kuami Eugene is disrespectful and that’s why he dislikes him.
The “One Corner” hitmaker made this revelation on the Go Online Show with Sammy Kay on Wednesday.
According to Patapaa, the type of songs Kuami Eugene does cannot be called Highlife, so he couldn’t fathom why the singer was adjudged Highlife Artiste of the Year at the 20th edition of the VGMA last year.
When asked by the host if there was a problem between him and Kuami Eugene, Patapaa answered that the Obiaato singer was not his friend.
“There are some people who feel pompous and think they’re more human than other people. That boy is not my friend, he lacks respect so I don’t like him,” he said.
“I can’t go on air and tell the public a fellow artiste’s songs are foolish songs, I can never do that. A person like this, I won’t feature him on my song,” he added.
He mentioned Akwaboah as a real Highlife artiste, the reason why he chose to feature him on his new song “Adam Konkonsa” released this week.
He also mentioned that KiDi is a good guy, who was brought up well and is very respectful.
At some point in the interview, the Pa Tu Pa soldier threatened to walk away from the interview if the questions were only about Kuami Eugene.
