As part of efforts to improve safety and security issues in the Kwahu enclave, the Development Chief of Kwahu- Nkwatia Nana Owiredu Wadie I through his Kabaka Foundation has presented a brand new (2018) model Toyota Hilux 4×4 pickup truck to the Nkwatia Divisional Police Command.
The rationale according to the development chief is to help increase police presence in the enclave through active and vigorous patrols to reduce crime to its barest minimum to boost investor confidence in the Kwahu Tourism drive initiative.
Receiving the keys to the vehicle on behalf of the Inspector General of Police at a special event to commission the Nkwatia Divisional Police Command, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Anderson Fosu-Ackah said: “It gives me great joy to represent the IGP today here, I will first like to show appreciation to the former IGP Mr. Oppong Boanu for the vision to elevate Nkwatia to a Division and for Dr George Akufo Dampare to continue to see to its realization, beyond having structures as a basis for providing policing, personnel would go into the communities to constantly engage citizenry as Police visibility widened to ward off criminals”.
“The entire Police service is highly grateful to the Kwahu Nkwatia Nkosuohene, Nana Wadie I for the tremendous support over the years and for fully furnishing the divisional office and also providing us with this brand-new vehicle. I want to assure you all, that we will use the facility to deepen policing in the area and continue to keep its residents safe”.
On his part, the Executive Director of the Kabaka Foundation, Dr. Henry Larbi, who spoke on behalf of Nana Owiredu Wadie I indicated that the Kabaka Foundation development agenda is strategic with the aim to provide basic needs of the community.
“The commissioning of the facility has coincided with the first anniversary of the installation of the Kwahu Nkosuohene. Today is exactly one year since Nana Owiredu Wadie I was enstooled as the Nkosouhene of Kwahu Nkwatia and as part of activities to mark the 1-year anniversary, he decided to donate a brand-new Toyota Hilux (2018 model) to the newly commissioned Kwahu-Nkwatia Police Divisional Headquarters at Kwahu Nkwatia to help boost security for businesses to thrive. Kabaka Foundation is not stopping here, Nana Owiredu Wadie I will by the end of this year donate a circuit court to the Kwahu East District as part of activities to mark his 1-year anniversary as Nkosouhene of Kwahu Nkwatia”.
The elevation of Kwahu Nkwatia police to a division and the donation of the vehicle which has been welcomed by all both young and old is said to have brought joy to, especially business owners who believe the move will encourage a lot of investors to set up in the Kwahu enclave in the quest to take advantage of its rich tourism drive and endowment.
