The family of the Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency, Peter Wiafe Pepera, who died on Saturday, May 21, has scheduled his funeral and burial for July 23 and July 24.
The family made this known on Wednesday, June 8, when it called on the leadership of Parliament.
He would be buried at Abetifi in the Eastern Region, according to the family, but that will be subject to change if Parliament so wishes.
Mr Wiafe Pepera, who has been MP since 2009, died after a short illness at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
He served on the Privileges Committee as well as those of Trade and Industry and Housing while in Parliament.
Mr Wiafe Pepera died aged 62.
Receiving the family at the Speaker’s conference room, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ebow Barton-Odro said a request has been made to the clerk of the House to get all Members periodically checked medically.
This he said is to keep Members fit at all times.
