The ‘Four Play’ actress made this known in a facebook post which said, “Hi Everyone, I’m proud to announce that I’ve officially been invited to be a Commonwealth Goodwill Ambassador.”
A mail received by the actress read, “Over the past few years we have recognized your love and devotion to the African continent. Specifically, we have proudly watched you as you have carved a unique brand for yourself in the world of film and entertainment in Africa and beyond”.
“Today, we live in a different world. A world turned upside down by covid-19. Our simple message today is that, in the midst of all the deaths that are happening around us, we must remain united to each other, and to the rest of the world. Covid-19 is a complex illness that transcends race, age, creed, gender and geographic barriers. It has become glaringly obvious that no one nation, even the so called superpowers can and should operate like an island”.
“Today, I would like to confirm your invitation as a Commonwealth Goodwill Ambassador like other high achieving artists. I know that you would have receive many requests such as these. However, I believe that ours is different. It is different because we are creating social change and building a momentum across Africa. We have finally begun our ascension in the hearts and minds of African, and we want you to be a part of our new chapter and our campaign for covid-19.”
“Welcome on board and enjoy the flight”.
