Ghanaian Actress, Lydia Forson has registered for her voter’s ID card after saying the new voter’s register is senseless.
On June 3, 2020, KwasiAboagyeLive.com reported that the outspoken actress had said that the Electoral Commission’s determination to compile a new voter’s register was senseless.
The actress, who has over the years been very vocal about issues not only in the entertainment industry but on politics and other social matters, said she couldn’t fathom why the exercise should go on especially when COVID-19 cases were on the rise.
She noted that even when Ghanaians were registering for the National Identification Card, many of them had to go through a lot of stress so she won’t allow her loved ones to go through this process.
“How do I let my loved ones with underlying health issues do this, especially at a time when we’re recording more numbers,” she said.
Months after making the above statement, the popular actress has gone to register and has shared her experience.
According to her the registration wasn’t as stressful as she thought it would be.
She said the Electoral Commission did its best to ensure the protocols regarding to COVID-19 was followed.
Lydia Forson however indicated that she hated having to go through the process again for a card that looked like the same one she had.
She therefore urged her followers to go and register to vote in the 2020 elections in December.
