Mahama promises to investigate the murders of Ahmed Suale and J B Danquah in second term

The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has promised to look into the deaths of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale and former legislator, J B Danquah Adu.

Ahmed Suale, who was a member of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI was shot dead at Madina while driving home in January 2019.

Report says he was shot twice in the chest and once in the neck. Ahmed played a major role in Anas’ Number 12 documentary exposing some officials in Ghana football.

Also, J.B Danquah Adu, who was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North constituency in the Eastern Region, was also killed at his home 4 years ago.

Even though some suspects have been arrested and are facing court, the murders of the two have remained unresolved.

Speaking at the NDC manifesto launch yesterday, former President Mahama said he will conduct a thorough investigation into the cases and bring the perpetrators to book when given another term to rule the country.

“We will conduct investigations into the assassination of Ahmed Suale and other unresolved cases.
“We will change the current climate of fear, intimidation and harassment of the media,” he stated.

The NDC’s manifesto launch was held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
