President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to officially launch his 2016 election campaign in June,  the Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Anthony Nukpen, has revealed.

Speaking on Onua FM’s current affairs programme, Ghana Dadwen on Monday, he said the President will from Tuesday resume his Accounting to the People tour from the Greater Accra where he is scheduled to inspect and inaugurate a number of projects by his government.

He told the host of the show, Bright Asempa that President Mahama will launch his campaign after the tour of the region but did not give further details.

President Mahama is expected to visit all the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies in the region to inspect ongoing projects and also inaugurate completed ones, Mr Nukpenu told Onua FM adding Mr Mahama will hand over 100 buses to some selected schools in the country.

“This is a governance tour to check all the projects he has embarked on to know where it has gotten to but not a campaign tour as it is being said,” the Regional Organiser emphasised.

He said President Mahama as part of the tour interact with traditional rulers and fishermen in the various communities in the region.

He mentioned Ada, Sege, Saglemi and Ningo Prampram as some of the places the President would be visiting, noting he would inspect the 22km road from Kase to Ada as well as some housing projects in the region.

President Mahama will also inspect the ICT Park developed at the free zone’s enclave as part of the tour which will end on Friday June 17.
