Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC missed out on a semi-final place in the CAF Confederation Cup after a 1-0 loss away to MO Bejaia.
Though same on points with the Algerians, the Ghanaians missed out on head-to-head. They had been held to a goalless draw in the very first group game at the Essipon Stadium.
Medeama needed at least a draw on Tuesday to make it to the knock-out stage, having avoided defeat in their three previous outings including a 3-2 win over African champions TP Mazembe.
But the Algerians made sure they joined the Congolese in the semi-finals with Tuesday’s win.
Morgan Betorangal’s strike in the second half gave MO Bejaia the ticket to face either FUS Rabat of Morocco or defending champions Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
Group A Final Standing
- TP Mazembe 13pt
- MO Bejaia 8pt
- Medeama SC 8pt
- Young Africans 4pt
