Ghana’s Medeama SC began their CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a 1-3 away loss to African giants TP Mazembe on Sunday.
The match played out like the last away gameof the Mauves, , against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, after they took the lead as early as the 3rd minute only to allow the Ravens to claw back.
Malik Akowuah had scored for the Ghanaians but Zambian Rainford Kalaba, with a brace, and Malian Salif Coulibaly scored for the Congolese.
Ghanaians Solomon Asante and Daniel Nii Adjei were in the thick of affairs for the Central African side.
It was the opening Group A game of the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.
Medeama’s next match will be at home to Algerias’ MO Bejaia on Wednesday, June 29.
