Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwaa , has filed his nomination to contest the 2016 parliamentary election on December 7 in a bid to retain the seat.
Mr Amankwaa who is contesting on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, was accompanied by hundreds of party supporters and the constituency executives as they chanted “Nana w) kurom” to wit Nana is in town.
The party faithful were convinced the unity and purpose exhibited by the supporters and all the executives was a demonstration that the party was ready to retain the seat and give the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo a resounding victory in the elections
For almost a year, the Manhyia North constituency was characterised by tension emanating from divisions within the party.
A former constituency executive member, Ibrahim, noted the party is now united for victory, saying “there is unity of purpose now”

“We are happy as a party and now we can confidently say that we are ready for December,” an elated constituency chairman, Kwaku Oppong, told journalists
He also Mr Amankwaa as a unifier and the best candidate for the constituency, saying “He is uniting the party at a fast pace.”
He entreated all the supporters of the NPP in the constituency to rally behind Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and the parliamentary candidate in the elections.
Mr Amankwaa said the party is targeting 90% in the constituency to compliment the projected 80% or more in the Ashanti region.
