Mzbel Opens Up About Being Raped at Gunpoint

Renowned musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, famously known as Mzbel, has shared unsettling accounts of a deeply distressing event she endured.

Speaking to Barima Kaakyire Agyemang during his longest interview marathon on Friday, March 29, she recounted how two armed robbers forcibly entered her home, held her at gunpoint, and subjected her to a traumatic ordeal of robbery and sexual assault

The terrifying assault unfolded in her own bedroom and kitchen, leaving her profoundly traumatized.

In her own words, Mzbel recounted the terrifying moments: “It was two people that raped me actually. One person raped me in my bedroom and one person in my kitchen. So we were in the room, we were sleeping and somebody hit my back so hard and I woke up and when I woke up, I saw a face disguised with a handkerchief covering the face.

“They asked for money, I gave them the money and showed them a few things and after that one person asked me to lay down at gunpoint and I did and he raped me. After he was done, another person too dragged me to the kitchen and asked me to lay down and I did and he also raped me. It was raw.”

According to the ’16 years’ hitmaker, she sought immediate medical assistance. She underwent HIV testing and was placed on treatment as a precautionary measure. Additionally, Mzbel participated in therapy sessions to address the emotional trauma caused by the appalling assault.

“I went to SSNIT hospital at Osu and I even had a therapist the who was talking to me every time. They checked us for HIV and put us on HIV treatment,” she recounted.

She remarked that the individuals responsible for this reprehensible act were eventually apprehended, tried, and imprisoned. However, Mzbel later discovered that they had passed away while serving their sentences.

When questioned about seeking spiritual retribution against her attackers, Mzbel responded: “I did not have to curse them, what they did to me was enough to be cursed.”
