Actress Nana Ama McBrown has revealed that at one point in her career, she was poisoned while shooting a movie and she nearly died.
The actress made the revelation in an interview with colleague actress Emelia Brobbey on her “Okukuseku The Talk Show.”
Nana Ama McBrown disclosed that after shooting the movie, which title she didn’t recall, she shared food with a colleague whose identity she didn’t want to disclose.
She said after eating with the person who left immediately, she felt sharp pains in her tummy about 30 minutes later.
The host of United Showbiz on UTV continued that immediately she was rushed to Kenkanso Hospital but since there was no doctor available, she was then taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Nana Ama McBrown used the opportunity to advice up and coming movie stars to be persistent and persevere because every industry has its own challenges.
Her story gives credence to perceptions that the Ghanaian movie industry is fraught with envy, jealousy, back stabbing and juju.
