The National Democratic Congress has described the tension among some of its executives in the Volta region over the composition of the 2016 campaign taskforce in the region as unfortunate.

Eleven elected executives of the Volta Regional branch of the NDC Friday accused their regional chairman and secretary of composing the 2016 campaign taskforce without consultation with the Functional Executive Committee.

Speaking on 3FM’s midday news, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, George Lawson, said the party is resolving the issue.

“I think it’s unfortunate and things are being sorted out and I’m sure peace will prevail,” he said but described it as being part of human institution where everyone would not be on the same wave length.

“Once you are dealing with human beings, these things will crop up here and there,” he said

Meanwhile, Mr Lawson called for calm, noting “I have spoken to some of them who have understood and agreed to smoke the peace pipe so I think everything is under control”
