NDC Gen Sec Asiedu Nketia calls for win for Adansi Asokwa candidate Evans Amankwah

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the party will fight to guarantee the voting rights of every Ghanaian living within or outside the country.

Addressing the launch of the Ashanti Region Volta Caucus at Fumso, Mr. Nketia entreated settlers in all parts of the country not to be intimidated in exercising their franchise in the December elections.

A special task force to embark on door-to-door campaign to canvass for more votes in settler communities especially Fumso in the Adansi Asokwa Constituency was launched.

The NDC has particularly set a target to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, K.T. Hammond.

The General Secretary said the time has come for the NDC to retire K.T. Hammond and bring in the NDC parliamentary candidate, Evans Amankwah.

He said it is only the NDC that can guarantee and protect the rights of settlers across the country.

He urged the constituents to be at ease in exercising their voting rights.

“No settler should feel intimidated when trying to exercise his voting rights because the NDC is bound to protect the right of every Ghanaian.”

Mr. Asiedu Nketia asked the electorates to refrain from voting skirt and blouse in the December elections.

The Fumso launch attracted Voltarians including Joe Gidisu, Dzifa Gomarshie, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Alex Segbefia, who took turns to address the supporters.

They called on the people to ignore the NPP and vote to retain the NDC for continuous development.

The Deputy Ashanti Region Minister, Andy Osei Okrah, assured all settlers that the security agencies are ready to protect the right of every Ghanaian.

“No person or group of persons have the right to deny any Ghanaian from voting. None of you should be afraid to exercise your voting rights on December 7th because the security is available to protect your rights.”

He called on electorates to come out in their numbers and vote for the NDC to secure the party a one-touch victory in the December polls.
