As the year swiftly comes to an end, the honorable member of parliament for Awutu Senya West, Nenyi George Andah spent a greater part of yesterday with the queen mothers in Awutu at Naakye’s residence in Bawjiase.
The MP and the QueenMothers had a very vibrant interactions were the needs of the people were expressed and the ongoing achievements of the NPP Administration and the MP were noted, and discussed.
The MP, after sharing the achievements within the past year, also shared his plans for the upcoming year.
He brought to light his priorities which are:
Ensuring the teething challenges with the FreeSHS implementation were addressed
Building capacity amongst the youth in terms of technical, vocational and leadership skills and competencies
Getting more employment opportunities for the youth in the constituency
Rehabilitation of Bawjiase and other key markets
The rehabilitation of the Bawjiase to OBRACHIRE road, and other major connecting roads within the constituency
Improvement of the health facilities in Awutu Breku, Bawjiase, and Senya.
Building on Peace and Unity within the constituency
The Queenmothers expressed their needs for additional support as most of them were unemployed
They also endorsed the MP’s plan for capacity building and suggested that the MP hasten consideration for entrepreneurial skills development since most girls in their communities are seeking for support to venture in various skills and trade.
The MP donated seed money to begin their demands and desires and asked the QueenMothers to oversee the usage of the money, targeting at least one beneficiary from each of the communities within the constituency in the first year.
The MP and his team joined the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, which was organised by the Directorate of Education in the district for all the schools in Bawjiase.
He wished everyone at that session happiness, joy, peace and prosperity. He invited the community to join hands with him as they develop the community and constituency in 2018.
In accordance to his commitment to staying close to the community, the MP will be spending time in the constituency over the Christmas break.
His public listings will include participating in the Festival of 9 Lessons and Carols in Senya, a Unity – Health walk in Beraku and a Faith Leadership engagement.
