Veteran Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah is not happy about the type of songs that new crop of musicians churns out.
He stated that the current songs lack substance and the lyrics do not inspire or impact society.
The ‘Bronya’ composer reminisced how people were inspired through their songs some years ago.
“When listening to songs produced today, you would see that it is the same or one word that is used repeatedly, however, when you listen to the lyrics in my song “Kwadonto”, you would rather be inspired,” he told Hammer Nti in an interview on Kumasi-based Pure FM.
Kaakyire stressed that a piece of good music must be able to have a significant influence on others.
His comment comes after other veteran musicians have expressed their views on the same subject.
