About 20 chiefs from the Nhyiaeso Constituency in the Ashanti region last Sunday openly expressed their preference for Dr. Samuel Sarpong as he eyes the parliamentary seat of the area on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress.

The chiefs eulogized the NDC parliamentary aspirant claiming his personality and human relations alone is enough to win him the Nhyiaeso constituency seat.

Dr Sarpong had visited the chiefs to officially seek their permission to embark on campaign in the constituency. He was also there to seek for blessings and endorsement as he begins his door to door campaign in the constituency.

Dr Sarpong’s visitation took him to palaces like Dakwadwom, Ahodwo, Apraman, Adiebeba, Daaban, Patuda, Konkromoase, Santase Nyinam, and Santase.

Everywhere he went, Dr.Sarpong appealed to the chiefs and residents to rally behind him because they themselves are witnesses to what he is capable of doing.

As a former mayor and a onetime Ashanti Regional Minister, he said, development of his constituents is his main focus.

“You know I have done it before and I promise not to lead you astray when I’m elected as the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso come December 7.”

Dr. Samuel Sarpong, who is now the chief executive officer of State Housing Company, is optimistic he will wrest the Nhyieaso parliamentary seat from the opposition NPP.

At Patuda, Nana Kusi Oboadum, Patudadikro, assured 100% victory for the NDC candidature. He then appealed to Dr. Sarpong to help the community with footbridge and construct road that will link the community to nearby communities. He again requested for dustbins to be placed at vantage points to help improve sanity in the community.

On his part, Nana Adjei Domfeh, Apraman Dikro, noted that the one million votes from the Ashanti region by the NDC come December 7 won’t be difficult if Dr Samuel Sarpong were still the mayor of Kumasi.

He was of the view that, Dr Sarpong is a unifier and a dynamic politician who does not need any introduction at any gathering. He assured him of his support and wished him good luck come December 7.
