NPP parliamentary aspirant steps down over health issues

NPP flag 1The New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Karaga in the Northern Region, Shahawari Bashiru, has stepped down, 3FM can confirm.

The party’s Regional Communications Director, Abdul Kudus, who confirmed the news on 3FM’s Election Zone Tuesday claimed Bashiru stepped down on health grounds.

Efforts to reach Mr Bashiru to comment on the issue proved futile.

The aspirant was said to have involved in an accident on the Kumasi-Kintampo stretch of the Accra to Tamale Highway when the vehicle he and two others were travelling in burst a tyre and crashed into a tree killing the two.
