Director of Elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has raised concerns the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) has been unable to follow its timelines made available to political parties at the beginning of this year.

“I daresay that all timelines have been missed,” he observed.

Mr Adjei-Mensah Korsah expressed the concerns on TV3’s Midday Live on Friday, July 22.

He said the latest rejection of the proposal of the November 7 voting day is evidence that all is not going well with the Commission.

“Never in our history as a country have we been engulfed in such controversy about the fine document of the elections.”

He said the ongoing voter exhibition exercise was supposed to have been done earlier with July billed for the filing of nominations of parliamentary aspirants.

That will now be done in September, he said.

‘Less talk, more work’

He bemoaned how the exhibition exercise, for instance, has been fraught with errors as most registered voters complain about wrongful deletions.

The Director of Elections of the opposition party said the EC must “put its act together” and do “less talk and more work”.

The elections by the rejection of the Constitutional Amendment Bill will be held on Wednesday, December 7.
