Nyantakyi’s club deny match fixing claims

Wa All StarsThe Ethics Committee of the Ghana Football Association has launched investigations into allegations by New Edubiase star Prince Antwi that Wa All Stars’ 1-0 win over his side was fixed.

Antwi claimed in an interview that the two clubs had struck a deal in advance for a game which All Stars needed to win to stay in contention for a first ever league title.

The GFA says it is studying the recording and will summon the player before it soon as part of it’s investigations.

“The Ethics Committee is carefully studying the recording and will soon invite the alleged player to appear before it to establish the veracity of the comments made in the recording,” the statement said. “The Committee will treat this particular case with upmost importance considering the effect it may have on our top flight league.”

New Edubiase have already distanced themselves from the player’s claims. Wa All Stars, owned by GFA president Kwesi Nyantekyi have also denied the players claims and are adamant they have never been involved in any match fixing.

The Wa club are one of four clubs in a four-way race for the Ghana league title with four round of matches left. They lead the league standings by a point from Aduana Stars
