Ghanaian broadcaster Kwame Obimpeh Nartey, popularly known as OB Nartey, has picked up his nomination form to contest in the upcoming ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primaries in the Adentan Constituency.
Nartey, who is a former host of Vision 1 Live Worship, made his intentions known on Wednesday, July 26, when he visited the head office of the Adentan NPP with his team of delegates.
He was warmly welcomed by the party’s executives, including Chairman Joseph Acolatse and Secretary Ebenezer Nyedu Bediako.
In his remarks, Nartey expressed his appreciation to the party’s executives for their cordial welcome and reiterated his commitment and vision to work hard to win the Adenta seat for the NPP in next year’s elections.
“This is the first step in my determination to rescue our lost seat from the opposition party and build the flourishing Adentan we want for ourselves,” he said.
“I appeal to all party faithful to regard me as their best candidate, determined and capable of winning our parliamentary seat come December 2024,” he added.
The executives, on their part, urged Nartey and his team to have a clean campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks to secure a united front for next year’s elections.
Nartey is a known figure in the media space, having started his journalism journey in 2008 when he volunteered as an election reporter for then Choice FM. The experience encouraged him to go fully into media after his National Service in 2009.
Nartey’s decision to contest the NPP primaries in Adentan has been welcomed by many party members, who believe that he has the experience and skills necessary to win the seat for the party.
