Obinim’s church members chant “No bishop, No vote”

In what has turned out to be a hilarious twist to Bishop Daniel Obinim’s arrest, members of his church who had gathered at the Nima Police station demanding his release were angrily chanting “no bishop, no vote” amongst others.

Shouting on top of their voices, some of the members of the International God’s Way church said arresting the so called man of God would anger the Almighty who has ordained him to be a blessing to the country.

Some also said “if they know what Obinim is doing for Ghana, they’d release him right away.”

The controversial Ghanaian pastor, Daniel Obinim was arrested in yet another case in which he is being investigated for allegedly defrauding a man of a whooping GHC11.6 million.

He was said to have demanded the said amount from the yet to be named man under the pretext of assisting him retrieve an amount of GHC78,000 paid to a fetish priest to perform some form of rituals.

There were initial speculations that he had been arrested for flogging two teenagers in his church for engaging in premarital sex which has led to the girl getting pregnant.

Petition for Obinim?

Following the remission of the 4 months sentence of the Motie 3 by President Mahama after a petition presented to him, some members of the bishops church are asking for a presidential pardon indicating that they may be presenting a petition to him in that regard.

They said the bishops impact on the country should not be taken for granted because ‘it had changed many lives.’

The police have however warned the members to leave its premises since they did not have a permit for the public gathering.
