One dead, two injured as driver runs into traders at Suame

One person has been confirmed dead while another is on admission at the Tafo Government Hospital after a commercial vehicle lost control and ran into traders who were selling by the roadside at the Suame roundabout in the Ashanti Region.

Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred at around 4 am on Thursday.

According to them, the driver of the vehicle experienced a brake failure and in the process, a customer who was hit, died on the spot while the trader who was selling the items also got critically injured.

One other person sustained minor injuries and has been treated and discharged.

Police sources and authorities at the Tafo Government Hospital have confirmed the incident to Citi News.

The hospital is, however, calling on the public to help identify the deceased person.

Citi News checks reveal that the driver of the vehicle has been detained by the Suame District police command as the police have commenced investigations into the incident.
