Opposition parties demo: Mahama’s tenure is killing us

Opposition political parties in the Northern region have defied police orders and demonstrated through the streets of Tamale over what they describe as killer taxes and harsh conditions of living under the John Mahama administration.

The parties included the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), the Peoples National Convention (PNC) amongst others were asked by the police not to embark on the demonstration but the orders were ignored.

The demonstration has been dubbed “Dimiiya”.

Reports reaching 3news.com indicate that the demonstration has been peaceful. Some key personalities of the main opposition NPP including Sammy Awuku: National Youth Organiser of the NPP and others were present at the demonstration.

They held placards some of which read “Mahama where is SADA, Mahama Killer Tariff…” amongst others sort to bring the presidents attention to the supposed hardships they are in.

Mahama take campaign to Northern region:

Meanwhile President John Mahama is in the Northern region to continue his campaign which he began from the Western region. He is expected to spend some 4 days in the region.

He starts the campaign from Salaga and would meet with chiefs and people of the various towns he’d be visiting.
