The National Executive Committee, after acknowledging the intense work the flag- bearer is currently embarking on in the various constituencies, agreed that the day of the manifesto launch should include the official outdooring of the Campaign team and the campaign.

Running Mate
As the Party’s Constitution directs, the Flag-bearer brought names of three abled members to the attention of NEC. for final determination on one.

An in-depth analysis on the background of the three members were made by members of NEC.
After a careful deliberation, it was agreed that a subcommittee of NEC will assist the Flag-bearer to choose one out of the three.

Regional Reports
All regional executives were invited to give their regional reports to NEC. Members of NEC were very happy with reports from various regional executives as they indicated to leadership of the party, how far they have gone with the directives given them by Leadership some months back, regarding the holding of primaries for the selection of parliamentary candidates.

However, leadership was disappointed when the Regional Chairman of Greater Accra could not give any substantive report, indicating that since he was elected as regional chairman, he has not been able to do anything regarding the directives given them by leadership.

He however indicated that, with the period left for the general elections, he can still lead his regional executives in Greater Accra to win a maximum of two million votes for the party.

National Youth Organiser

The meeting was updated on the state of our national youth organiser. NEC was informed that a petition has been brought against the party’s national youth organiser and this has been referred to the disciplinary committee hence a final decision will be made by the disciplinary committee and it will be communicated appropriately.
