PPP names fmr. Miss Ghana, Bridget Dzogbenuku as running mate

The flagbearer of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has picked a former Miss Ghana, Bridget Dzogbenuku as his running mate for the 2016 elections.

She is the first female vice presidential candidate named for the December 7 elections. The two leading political parties in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have both named men as their running mates.

Bridget Dzogbenuku is the second woman vice presidential candidate to be named by the PPP. The first was madam Eva Lokko, a former Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).

Eva Lokko is now the parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle constituency on the ticket of the PPP.
Bridget Dzogbenuku was officially introduced to party supporters on Thursday August 4. She was Miss Ghana 1991 and has in the last few years been a stern critic of the current NDC administration.

She has been a women’s right activist and founder and CEO of Mentoring Women Ghana, a Non Governmental Organisation.

She was the General Manager of the Aviation Social Center, a fitness and wellness recreational facility which she managed for 12 years.
