President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaian electorates not to heed to calls by the flag-bearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo, to try him by voting for him in the 2016 elections.
According to President Mahama, the “presidency is not a machine which is sent to the magazine and brought for trial…Ghana is not in the era of experiment where the presidency is handed over for test but in the era of surety”.
He was addressing party sympathizers in Bimbila as part of his campaign tour of the Northern Region.
President John Dramani Mahama rather urged the electorates to retain him and the National Democratic Congress because they have the experience and the track record, especially when it comes to development.
President Mahama likened Nana Akufo-Addo to a dictator who cannot take criticism even within his own party let alone uniting the NPP.
“We don’t want leaders who can’t take criticism, if you criticize him, he will sack you,” President Mahama told the supporters
The President believes the peace and stability in Ghana is enough for Ghanaians to give the NDC a second term in office.
“The National Democratic Congress, if for nothing at all, has ensured peace and stability in Ghana,” he said.
President Mahama emphasized on the need for Ghanaians to guard the peace the country is enjoying.
Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for the Tamale Central Constituency Inusah Fuseini also called on the electorates not to vote for short men like Nana Akufo Addo.
“The presidency he added is not for short men who wear spectacles”.
