The Minority Leader in Parliament has described promises captured under the National Democratic Congress manifesto highlights presented by President John Mahama as “phantom projects”.
“It was a rehash of what the NDC government always talk about. All the things he said were part of what the NDC promised earlier but could not do it”, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa hosted by Bright Asempa, Wednesday.
The Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency of the Ashanti Region explained that “there was nothing new in what the president presented. All the achievements he talked about were not like that”.
He explained that “if the NDC proposed to achieve all the things enumerated, that is fine, but all of the things enumerated are not achievable. But it is good to dream big but the dream must be realistic”.
Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said important issues affecting Ghanaians such as corruption, economic policies and unemployment were missing in the President’s highlights.
The MP said most of the loans that the NDC government secured have found themselves into private pockets and this is what the ordinary Ghanaian would want to hear how President Mahama would fight it instead of the “phantom promises”.
