Effective Monday, presidential and parliamentary candidates wishing to transfer their vote from one constituency to another can do so across the country, the Electoral Commission (EC) has announced.
The candidates have up to Friday, August 19 to put in their application at the constituency district of the EC where they intend to transfer the vote to for consideration.
To qualify, the Commission says one must be a registered voter; be a resident in the constituency other than where he/she registered for not less than 12 months; provide physical proof of new residence including residential address.
“If successful, the voter shall be assigned to a new polling station in his/her new Constituency of residence,” a statement issued and signed by the Head of Communications at the EC said.
