Prez Mahama verifies name in voters register exhibition

President John Dramani Mahama has verified his name as a registered voter in his hometown of Bole in the Northern region.

The president in a tweet to confirm this, charged all registered voters to go out and check their names and verify in the ongoing voter exhibition exercise being undertaken by the Electoral Commission (EC).

The president’s check and verification come just a day after his keenest competitor, Nana Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) also verified his name in his hometown of Kyebi in the Eastern region.

The president in his tweet said “I was at my polling station in Bole yesterday to check my name in the voters register. Have you checked yours?”

The exhibition exercise which started on Monday July 18, 2016 would be closed on Monday August 7 which is a period of 21 days.

The EC has reiterated the need for all registered voters to go out and check their names and verify before the closing date. Failure to do this would disenfranchise them.
