Ghanaian celebrated footballer Christian Atsu has been confirmed dead.
Atsu died from the deadly earthquake that struck Southern and Central Turkey and Western Syria on February 6, 2023.
He was trapped under the rubble for more than a week before he was found dead on Saturday morning.
The news of his death was announced by his agent Nana Sechere.
Ever since his death was announced, many celebrities have taken to social media to express their condolences.
One of the first to express his sadness over the news was award-winning afro-gospel musician Joseph Matthew.
The ‘Blessed’ hitmaker wrote, “RIP Atsu So Sad. It’s definitely not what I wanted to hear this morning. But His will be done on earth.”
Successful African rapper, Sarkodie also posted on Facebook, “RIP”.
NKZ record boss and famous rapper Guru in a tweet used an exclamation, “Hmmm”.
