A senior pastor with the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) in Ejisu, and three others have reportedly died in an accident at Achina within the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Three out of the four deceased persons died on the spot, while one sustained various degrees of injuries but was pronounced dead after he was rushed to the hospital.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, around midday.
According to eyewitnesses, the four deceased persons were occupants in a private Mercedes-Benz when a tipper truck rammed into them. The deceased were three males and one female.
A driver who was among the first people to help rescue the victims, Edward Opoku narrated the incident to Citi News saying “the truck loaded with sand was moving towards Owin when it collided with the Mercedes-Benz at a sharp curve at Achina.
“Two of the deceased persons who were church members of the SDA were offered a free ride by the pastor at Ejisu to Achina. One of the deceased before the accident was discharged from the hospital and the other person had gone for treatment. They were struggling to find a vehicle to their various homes when the pastor came and offered them a free ride. None of the three male occupants of the truck was hurt,” he narrated.
The bodies have since been deposited at the morgue.
