Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has finally disclosed the reason for what exactly led to the breakdown of the strong bond between himself and rapper Sarkodie in the music industry.
The reason had to do with the Glo Mega Concert that happened on October 25, 2018 (5-year-ago). Shatta Wale had spoken prior to Sarkodie regarding how much they could charge for the show. He did this because he had an insider information that said the Nigerian artiste were being paid in thousands of dollars.
Speaking on a Twitter Space with award-winning TV presenter Serwaa Amihere, the multiple award-winning music star, Shatta Wale, narrated that they both agreed to ask for $150,000 for the Glo deal. However, Sarkodie betrayed him and ended up accepting GHC120,000.
“They paid him like GH₵120,000 but we had agreed on $150,000 and this matter is from 4-5 years ago so when I heard it, I was like I spoke to this person a few days ago so I called him and I asked him and he said, Yes, they’ve paid us good money but I told you they can pay more even in dollars,” he said.
Shatta added that To make matters worse, the organizers of the concert thought he wasn’t worth the amount he asked for and offered and offered to pay Sarkodie $131,000 instead of the $150,000 they initially agreed on.
According to Shatta Wale, he was upset that Sarkodie didn’t support his idea to boycott the show when they were offered less money. Instead, Sarkodie performed at the show and took the $131,000.
