Sick minds behind Mahama’s money sharing video – Abodakpi

Dan Abodakpi

Ghana’s former High Commissioner to Malaysia, Dan Abodakpi did not mince words when he described persons he believed to have doctored a video of the president allegedly sharing money as being of sick mind.

He could not fathom why someone would film President Mahama distributing “leaflets”, and alter same video to portray the president as sharing money on a campaign tour.

“There can be no iota of truth in such claims,” Mr. Abodakpi told 3FM’s Kwakye Afreh Nuamah on Thursday.

He contended that it was needless for President Mahama to use money to induce voters to win the forthcoming general elections.

Confident Abodakpi said the achievements of the president over the four-year period are “self evidence” to secure him victory in the December 7 polls.

“Such allegation can only be made by desperate souls who are trying to hold on to straws to paint the president black,” he insisted.

Indicating the impossibility of President Mahama to bribe millions of voters with money, the former High Commissioner said the allegation is a story that “can be told to the marines, there is absolutely no truth”.

He would not buy into the argument that the video that has gone viral on social media looks real and genuine.

“We are in the age of IT, and people can fabricate all kinds of things and put them out there…I would not be surprised that some sick minds will go out of their way in desperation to put something like this out…I think we should treat this with the contempt that it deserves,” he maintained.

Meanwhile, a member of the pressure group, Occupy Ghana, Nana Sarpong Agyemang has rejected claims that what the president distributed were leaflets.

He believes the president was sharing money and wants him investigated.
