A member of gospel trio Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Edna Sarpong, has lashed out at gospel musicians, calling some lazy in their composition.

“Now there is laziness in today’s gospel musicians,” she said. “Do you know Daughters of Glorious Jesus always wants to hear something different?

“Gospel musicians of today rush to the studio to sample songs from colleague old gospel musicians. They go to the same studio to record same beat and then they add something little. So far as I’m concern any gospel musician who does that is not a musician”.

Edna Sapong made this known in an exclusive interview with Onua 95.1 FM’s Christian Agyei Frimpong.

Daughters of Glorious Jesus, which has been together for almost 30 years, is made up of Cynthia Appiadu, Edna Sarpong, and Monica Owusu Ansah.

They were accepted in the late 1980’s by Ghanaians and have performed across the world.

Some of their greatest hits songs include Mebo wo din daa, Edin no, Asomdwoe hene, Tumi wo mu, Fata ayeyie, Ewurade, Yesu, Woye m’ade nyinaa, Aseda ben, Yeyi waye, Okasa preko, Fa wasem to Awurade anim, Momma yenben Awurade, Odomfo, Onakwafo Nyame, Beberee, Ahinta Bea and Wo Ntaban.

Members of the gospel trio are now ordained ministers of God with the aim of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ through music as well as ministering the word of God to lost souls.
