A student of the University of Ghana who shed 15.7 kilogrammes of weight in 60 days has emerged winner of the second season of 3FM’s Fat2Fit challenge.
Ms. Rosaliz Ampene takes home a 6-month free gym membership from Aviation Social Center, a 32” Flat Screen TV from KpakpakpaMarket.com , a three-month beauty spa treatment from Ariel’s Haven and gift vouchers from Audylot Seasonings, Asikoree Organic Health Shop and Sassy Fruit Juice.
The first runner-up, Agnes Larbi lost 13.5kilogrammes of weight in 60 days while Janice Amedofo, the second runner-up, also lost 9.4 kilogrammes during the period. They also took home attractive prizes.
The second season of the Fat2Fit 60 Days Challenge started on August 13 to encourage Ghanaians to eat clean (mainly plant based meals) and adopt active for 60 days continuous.
Persons desiring to lose weight were offered a platform to engage in regular exercises and healthy eating for 60 days. During the period, the participants were given meal and exercise plans as well as motivation to stay focus.
They also engaged in a myriad of activities including the Millennium and Milo marathons, healthy cooking sessions, mountain climbs and open space aerobics sessions at the Aburi hills and TV3 premises
Speaking at the end of the challenge, Founder and CEO of Fat2Fit Ghana, initiators of the Challenge, Mr. Akoto DerGross, described the event as being “great and self-fulfilling journey” which has helped people, including himself to lose weight.
He challenged participants to continue with the healthy lifestyle they have adopted and remain disciplined if they are to maintain their current weight.
DerGross received a surprise citation from the participants, expressing their appreciation.
3FM’s Head of Station, Mrs Petra Aba Asamoah, reiterated the station’s desire to see all Ghanaians adopt a healthy lifestyle, particularly its listeners.
Dr. Daniel Armooh, CEO of Acacia Health Insurance, main sponsors of the challenge, said they were proud to be associated with a programme that seeks to transform lives and improve the health of Ghanaians.
He observed obesity rate is high in Ghana, hence commended the organisers for fitness challenge programme.Movie star, Majid Michel who graced the event applauded the organisers and encouraged more companies to support the initiative.
He congratulated the participants for making a decision lead a healthy lifestyle and urged them to consume foods with high levels of alkaline since they help neutralize acid in the bloodstream, which leads to increased oxygen levels and improved energy and metabolism.
The Fat2Fit 60-Days Fitness Challenge is an initiative of Fat2Fit Ghana in partnership with 3FM 92.7 and sponsored by Acacia Health Insurance.
