Thirteen (13) people have been confirmed dead in an accident at Subinso-Branam in the Brong Ahafo Region when a Ford passenger car had a head-on collision with an O.A bus Monday morning.
The Ford vehicle went up in flames with all the passengers burning beyond recognition.
A pathologist was called to inspect the bodies for them to be buried “immediately”, the Municipal Chief Executive of Wenchi Alhaji Hakibu Dauda has confirmed.
Others who were severely injured have been admitted at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital.
“We have invited a pathologist and he has come to inspect [the bodies] and he has given us the go ahead to bury them immediately,” the MCE told Citi FM.
According to Alhaji Hakibu Dauda, O.A bus was heading to Wa when it clashed with the Ford vehicle which was on its way from Wa to Kumasi at Subinso-Branam on the Wenchi-Wa road.
“It came to light that the driver of the Yutong bus was sleeping and there was nothing the Ford driver could do but collide with the Yutong bus,” he said.
He stated that the bodies would be given mass burial today.
