The English Premier League is back

Leicester-Hull

The 2016/17 English Premier League season kicks off Saturdayc afternoon with the early match between champions Leicester City and Hull City at the KC Stadium in Hull.

Leicester City’s record signing, Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa, will make his premier league debut. The Foxes will be looking to open the defence of their title with a win.

Much attention will however be at the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City take on Sunderland.

This will be the first time former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola will lead the team in an official premier league match.

Their neighbours Manchester United, now under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho, will kick off their campaign at Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

World-record signing Paul Pogba will not however feature as he is serving a one-match ban for bookings he got in Italy.

This premier league campaign is being seen as a kind of champions league of managers.

Arguably, five of the world’s best football managers will ply their trade in the premier league in the next 10 months.

Apart from Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho at the two Manchester sides, there’s Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Ronald Koeman at Everton, Walter Mazzari at Watford and Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur.

You add to this some new faces in the league such as Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United), Nolito, Leroy Sane (Manchester United), Granit Xhaka (Arsenal), Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea) and Isaac Success (Watford) and you’re sure to have a stellar season which will be bitterly fought on and off the field of play.
