Troofe Festival, the unique African Soups Fair, once again met its promises by offering two days of delightful moments to patrons in Accra at the Mmofra Park Foundation, Dzorwulu, during Ghana’s Republic Day early this month.

Comfortably seated in an African decor, participants were offered various soups from most West African countries and beyond, with fresh free palm wine to cool off, and all in a jovial ambience.

They were also treated with dishes from Azmera Restaurant, Mazera Restaurant, French Fingers Restaurant, Soul Restaurant & Bar, Ring Road Restaurant & Bar and others with drinks from Guinness and other beverages including Sobolo ,ginger as well as lemon cocktails.

“I am a fan of this festival. It is fun, interactive and I get to enjoy meals from my dear country Cameroon that I miss so much,” said one of the participants.

The little ones, who were not left out, were able to enjoy the festival in their own special play zone.

The festival’s culinary contest also took place with contestants from Cameroon, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, Ghana and Mali.

After the judges’ deliberation, which included the votes on the various social media platforms, the contestant from Cote d’Ivoire, Miss Gadegbeku Orlane, was declared winner of the contest and received the ultimate prize, a flight ticket from Air Cote d’Ivoire, sponsor of the event. The rest of the contestants also received prizes from MAGGI.

“It wasn’t easy for us judges to choose a winner because all contestants offered us succulent and well-presented meals but the votes on the social media platforms made the differenc,e,” explained Mr. Damiano Lantonkponde, one of the judges.

To end the two-day event, Ghanaian highlife veteran, Amandzeba along with sensational Zouglou group Espoir 2000 and talented Coupé-Décalé group TNT (Tout Notre Talent) from Cote d’Ivoire took patrons to the depth of African music with amazing performances.

Troofe African soups fair is an annual gastronomic event organized in partnership with Winners Partners Groupe and was this year sponsored by MAGGI, Air Cote d’Ivoire and Guinness.
