TV3 helps those in need

3 Foundation

TV3 in partnership with the National Cardiothoracic Centre has launched the “Think Heart- Save a Child” Campaign.

The campaign is a charity arm under Media General’s 3 Foundation that was launched in June following a successful campaign that raised funds for the June 3 disaster victims a year ago. The 3 Foundation aimed at bringing hope to those in need, both medically and socially.

As September marks the anniversary of the World Health Day, the Foundation has partnered the National Cardiothoracic Centre to use its various media platforms (TV3 Network Limited, MG Radio, MG Digital [3news.com]) to raise awareness of heart disease and how to prevent it.

The “Think Heart Save a Child” campaign is calling philanthropists and corporate institutions to donate towards surgery and rehabilitation cost of children suffering from hole-in-heart conditions.

The campaign is set to run from September to the end of the year.

Currently the Foundation has over 25 hole-in heart medical requests. The cost of the surgery is very expensive ranging from $8000 to $1500 dollars. The foundation therefore wants to raise $100,000.00 per month.

Corporate institutions are challenged to sponsor at least two children each month. For the public no amount is too small so long as you join the campaign to help save the lives of future leaders.
