Two children feared dead in an accident at Takoradi

Two children are feared dead in a ghastly accident Sunday morning at Anaji in the Western Regional capital, Takoradi.

A speeding pick- up vehicle was said to have crushed into a taxi in which the two children and another were. They were on their way to church when the incident occurred at about 9:30am.

Eyewitnesses say the speeding pick-up vehicle that was being driving by a woman crushed the rear of the taxi with registration number WR 4708 – 13 near Queen of Peace Junction at Anaji.

Both the taxi and the pick-up vehicle were travelling from Ntankoful area.

The pick up veered off the road after it somersaulted and rammed into two kiosks by the roadside, which were not opened at the time.

All the victims including the pick-up driver were immediately rescued by bystanders and rushed to an unknown hospital in a critical state.

According to eyewitnesses, two of the children aged between eight and 10 are feared dead.
