The two members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who were electrocuted while mounting a billboard of the party’s flagbearer have been laid to rest.

The two were laid to rest on Friday, September 16 after a funeral service that attracted family and friends as well as sympathizers.

Michael Ameyaw, 20, and Kwaku Kumi, 41, met their untimely death in Abesim in the Brong Ahafo Region on Wednesday, September 7 when the billboard they were working on hit a high-tension electricity cable, killing them instantly.

Two others sustained injuries but were rushed to the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital, where they have been receiving treatment.

Speaking to Onua FM’s Antwi Boasiako, two classmates of Ameyaw, who was a student of Twene Amanfo Senior Technical School, shared fond memories of him.

“I am down to find my friend’s lifeless body today,” one said. “I sympathise with the family.”

“We have been friends,” the other, who is Amyeaw’s junior, said. “We do a lot of things together but I am sad about the incident.”
