Two military personnel who sustained life-threatening injuries in a road accident on the Kwesimintsim Highway in Takoradi Monday have been flown to Accra for medical attention.

Two other civilian ladies who sustained similar injuries are in critical condition at the Takoradi Hospital receiving treatment.

All the four were travelling in a saloon car Monday afternoon when their car crashed into a truck which was carting clinker from the Takoradi Port to the Diamond Cement company at Aboadze in the Western Region.

A bullion van driver, Ebo Wood, who witnessed the accident told Connect 97.1FM that he was moving from Kwesimintsim to Takoradi at about 3:30PM when suddenly the saloon car ahead of him made a careless driving that nearly crashed with a taxi cab.

Just moments after that incident, he said, the saloon car with registration WR 1834-13, suddenly somersaulted several times before it crashed into the side of a parked Man Diesel truck on the opposite site of the road. The truck had broken down at the time.
