Madam Akua Donkor, the presidential nominee of the Ghana Freedom Party who has been disqualified from contesting in this year’s presidential election has thrown her weight behind President John Mahama.
Speaking to TV3’s Bridget Otoo Tuesday, she said she has accepted the reasons for her disqualification but noted she did her best to satisfy all the requirements but it was unfortunate she was unsuccessful.
Akua Donkor’s nomination forms, according to the EC, was not fully and properly filled, had three different signatures of herself, as well as presented a minor as her running mate.
“I’ve accepted it, I don’t have a problem with them…Now I cannot contest but I give my support to my son John Mahama. I’m going to campaign for him…all my supporters should vote for him” she said in Twi.
