The Western Region connection was in full swing when the daughter of Ghana’s first president, Samia Yaba Nkruma, on Thursday, October 27 paid a surprise visit to the winner of 2016 Ghana’s Most Beautiful, Omor Yaba Bomo.
Yaba beat competition from Hiba, Akos, Naa and Badu – in that order – to become the first contestant from the Western Region to emerge winner of the crown, and coincidentally for keeps.
She was rewarded a four-wheel Suzuki Vitara, GH¢10,000 cash prize and a holiday trip to South Africa with souvenirs from sponsors for one year.
The former Jomoro Member of Parliament was full of praise for the beauty queen during her visit and described all other four contestants as winners, encouraging them to remain focused and improve society with the knowledge acquired during the 13 weeks of “hard work and trying times” in the competition.
