The first trailer for a new Bob Marley biopic from King Richard director Reinaldo Marcus Green is here.
Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for “Bob Marley: One Love,” a biopic about the late reggae icon.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse at Marley’s life, from his humble beginnings in Jamaica to his rise to global fame.
The trailer features footage of Marley performing on stage, relaxing with his family, and surviving an assassination attempt. It also features a parting phrase from Marley: “One love, one heart, one destiny.”
Kingsley Ben-Adir stars as Marley in the biopic, with Lashana Lynch playing his wife, Rita Marley. The film is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also directed “King Richard.” The screenplay is written by Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers, and Terence Winter.
Ziggy Marley, Marley’s son, is a producer on the film. He said that the film is “a commemoration of my late father” and that it will “deepen people’s connection to Bob and honor Bob in the right way.”
“Bob Marley: One Love” is scheduled to be released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
Ziggy Marley Shares Message About Biopic
In a message posted on the official Facebook page of Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley shared his thoughts on the upcoming biopic. He said that the film is “a story that needs to be told” and that it will “show the world the real Bob Marley.”
Marley also said that the film will “honor my father’s legacy” and that it will “inspire people to live in peace and love.”
“I hope that this film will help people to understand my father’s message of unity and love,” Marley said. “It is a message that is more important now than ever before.”
